Director Yuval David came to us with a bit of a branding challenge. His film Wonderfully Made is the first of a planned docuseries called LGBTQ+R(eligion). The title sequence needed to provide this context, while keeping the focus on the stand alone title. The type solution is similarly dual purpose, referencing the clock-work perfection of God’s cosmic creation while simultaneously representing the idiosyncrasy of individual identity. The typeface is Garamond, the digraph (VV) W repeated to mirror the awkward asymmetry of life. The film’s title comes from Psalm 139:
For it was you who formed my inward parts; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
